A diplomatic source said Tuesday evening that the chances of a hostage deal are "growing," but that it is "far from closed and will not happen tomorrow morning." The source added that "Hamas creates difficulties and the degree of trust in it is very limited."
A number of plans are on the table, one of which is the release of Israeli children held by Hamas in exchange for minors who have carried out attacks and are being held in Israel. However, there are other options and as mentioned nothing is closed.
It should be noted that this is not the first time that a release deal seemed imminent, and this was the case last weekend. In the end, however, no scoring was achieved and no deal was reached.
Earlier, US President Joe Biden said he believed a hostage deal would go through. Immediately afterwards, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that "when there is something to announce, we will do it."
