Highlights: Rothman: "I know that the legal reform will not return, the public wants a different politics" The issue of legal reform that had been at the center of the agenda over the past year moved aside. "Right now, as far as I'm concerned, in many areas, everything that happened until Simchat Torah morning doesn't exist at the moment," Rotman said. "If something passes, and I hope it does, it will be both by broad agreement and by consensus," he said.

The Knesset member, who also serves as chairman of the Constitution and Justice Committee and is considered one of the leaders in the implementation of the legal reform, said in an interview on Radio 100FM: "If something passes, and I hope it does, it will be with warm consent and also by consensus."

When the Iron Swords War began and the atrocities of October 7 took place, the issue of legal reform that had been at the center of the agenda over the past year moved aside and in fact disappeared from the agenda almost completely, except for a few mentions and discussions.

MK Simcha Rotman, one of the architects of the revolution and who serves as chairman of the Knesset's Constitution and Justice Committee, was interviewed Thursday afternoon on the program "The Representatives" on 100FM and in fact "admitted" that the current reform is irrelevant, or in his words "dead."

"I know this reform will never come back," he said. "If something passes, and I hope it does, it will be both by broad agreement and by consensus, and I hope that all politicians, including those of the other side, will understand and listen to the vibe and the voices of the public that wants a different politics. If you want, you can say I'm a 'new Simcha Rothman.'"

About a month ago, also at the height of the war, Rotman was interviewed by Knesset TV on the subject and said: "Right now, as far as I'm concerned, in many areas, everything that happened until Simchat Torah morning doesn't exist at the moment. Reform? Not as long as our goal is to defeat Hamas. We have not reset our opinions and our common sense. Now, we are united for victory."
