Staff Sergeant (Res.) Aviad Freija was brought early Thursday morning to the scene of the attack at the entrance to Jerusalem, where he reenacted the shooting incident involving Yuval Castleman, who helped kill the terrorists.
On Tuesday evening, Frija was released to house arrest after a hearing held at the military court in Beit Lid. Later in the day, it will be decided whether to extend his detention again.

At the hearing, military prosecutor Lt. Col. Kobi Marcus asked to extend Frige's detention, saying: "We need to carry out more investigative actions, especially the actions that we raised at the hearing justify the continued detention of the suspect, and as you can see, the expected main actions will end on Thursday morning. Therefore, we believe that the additional point of examination is appropriate."
Military Judge Lt. Col. Toby Hart noted in his decision: "Do not shoot at someone who poses no danger, raising hands is a dangerous sign that does not pose a danger. At the same time, not every case in which hands were raised is excluded from danger as it was in the past. All that can be said is that in such a case, discretion must be exercised before firing."
