"We couldn't ask for a better friend in Washington or in the White House," one of the representatives of the families of the hostages who met with US President Joe Biden at the White House said on Wednesday.
Robi Chen, the father of Itai who was kidnapped in Gaza, who participated in the meeting with President Biden, told Channel 12 News: "He encouraged us and gave room for hope, they told us about the possibility of bringing another deal."

"We felt before and now we have only strengthened our feeling that we could not have asked for a better friend in Washington or in the White House than President Biden himself and his administration," Yonatan Dekel-Chen, father of Sagi, 35, who was kidnapped from his home in Nir Oz, said after the meeting. Biden's guests brought him a menorah. The meeting was attended by families whose loved ones hold U.S. citizenship.

The meeting took place on the eve of the arrival in Israel of US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan. He will meet tomorrow with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
In addition, Advisor Sullivan will meet with President Herzog, Defense Minister Galant, Minister Gantz and members of the War Management Cabinet.
