Actor Matthew Perry died accidentally from the acute effects of ketamine, authorities said Friday.

Perry, 54, died Oct. 28 at his home in Pacific Palisades.

"Factors that contributed to his death include drowning, coronary artery disease, and the effects of buprenorphine (used to treat opioid use disorder). The manner of death is accidental," the document says.

On the day of Perry's death, first responders responded to a Pacific Palisades home in response to a 911 call at 04:07 p.m. about a "water emergency" of unknown type, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Perry was best known for his role as Chandler Bing, one of the key cast members of NBC's Gen X comedy "Friends" in the 90s. Perry, who played a statistical analyst, was known for his sarcasm and witty one-liners.

The series was hugely popular and dominated primetime. It lasted 10 seasons, from 1994 to 2004.
