Yotam Haim, who was abducted to the Gaza Strip on October 7, was accidentally killed Friday morning by the IDF alongside kidnapped Samer Fouad al-Talalqah and another abductee, whose family asked not to be named, after they were mistakenly identified as terrorists after fleeing or being abandoned on the ground by their abductors, according to a report released Friday.
Haim, 28, was born and raised in Kibbutz Borders. In recent years he lived in the youth neighborhood of Kfar Azza. On October 7, after Hamas launched its terrorist attack, he wrote in his family's WhatsApp group: "They are taking everything from me, burning down my house, I just hope to survive."

Yotam was a talented musician. Among other things, he was a drummer in the heavy rock band Franstas.
His mother, Iris, worked hard to free him. Among other things, she attended the meeting of the families of the abductees with the War Cabinet. She also flew to London to pressure his release.
