A combat detachment of the Marom Brigade's Special Counterterrorism Unit is fighting for the first time in Gaza as part of the brigade combat teams and is also making use of its operational capabilities, including break-in, sabotage and sniping.

In the incident in the Beit Hanoun area, the fighters identified a terrorist emerging from a tunnel shaft, firing bursts at the force, apparently in order to pull them towards an IED placed near the fighters. The force opened fire, threw grenades and neutralized the threat from a distance. Subsequently, the tunnel shaft was destroyed.

During the battles at a school deep in the Shejaiya neighborhood, the fighters operated under the 188th Brigade Combat Team, fought face to face with a terrorist squad and located a significant underground shaft in a school area. The terrorists tried to direct the force to a booby-trapped ambush with IEDs, the fighters conducted a battle with the help of drones and tanks, and eliminated the terrorists.
