After a long period of making a slew of antisemitic statements, Kanye West apologizes to the Jewish people. In a statement posted on his official Instagram account on Tuesday morning, the rapper wrote: "I want to apologize to the Jewish community for any unprogrammed outburst caused by my words or actions. It wasn't my intention to hurt or dishonor, and I deeply regret any pain I may have caused."

The nature of the announcement is significantly different from the statements of the musician from recent times. Among other things, West praised Adolf Hitler in interviews, claimed that Jews rule the world, and uttered a variety of controversial and racist phrases that led to many of the commercial companies he worked with severing their professional ties with him.

He added: "I am committed to starting with myself and learning from this experience to ensure greater sensitivity and understanding in the future. Your forgiveness is important to me, and I am committed to correcting and promoting unity." It should be noted that West performed in Israel in 2015.
