Judy was an English teacher specializing in children with special needs and attention deficit problems. She treated children with anxiety due to the situation around her with meditation and mindfulness methods. She was a poet, an entrepreneur, and dedicated to peace and fraternity.

Judy's husband, Gadi Hagai, 72, was also murdered in the 7 October massacre and Hamas was allowed to hold his body last week.

Iris, Gadi and Judy's daughter, wrote: "On Black Shabbat, my amazing mother and beloved father walked around the kibbutz as usual. They were among the first civilians to encounter terrorists between 06:56 a.m. and 06:50 a.m. My heart is stuck at 7.10."
