The family of Ilan Weiss, a resident of Kibbutz Be'eri who was considered missing, was informed that he was murdered by Hamas terrorists on Black Saturday. Weiss, whose wife Shiri and daughter Noga were abducted to Gaza and released in the second phase of the hostage release deal, was 56 years old when he died.
Ilan was on the kibbutz's emergency team. He left the house at 7:07 a.m. on October 15 and has since lost contact. Today, as mentioned, the family was informed that Ilan is not alive.
The terrorists first kidnapped the mother of the family, 53-year-old Shiri, and set the house on fire. Noga, 18, hid under the bed in the safe room, but as the flames intensified, she escaped from the safe room window and hid in the bushes, until she was discovered and kidnapped.
