Justice Minister Yariv Levin, one of the fathers of the legal reform, strongly condemned the High Court's disqualification of the Reasonableness Law, claiming that the ruling "will not discourage us."

Levin said: "The Supreme Court justices' decision to issue the ruling during a war is the opposite of the spirit of unity required these days for the success of our fighters on the front. In effect, the judges take into their hands in their ruling all the powers, which in a democratic regime are divided in a balanced manner between the three branches of government. A situation in which it is impossible to enact even a Basic Law or make any decision in the Knesset and the government without the consent of the Supreme Court justices takes away from millions of citizens their voice and the basic right to participate equally in decision-making.

"The ruling, unparalleled in any Western democracy, will not discourage us. As the campaign continues on the various fronts, we will continue to exercise restraint and responsibility."
