The issue of Palestinian workers: Today (Monday) the Knesset will hold a discussion on renewing the granting of work permits to Palestinian workers in industrial zones in Judea and Samaria.
So far, the civilian cabinet and the security cabinet have rejected the proposal of the defense establishment, backed by the National Security Council, to allow the entry of Palestinian workers, due to "preventing further security risk."
Two weeks ago, the ministers presented reasoned positions for postponing the entry of the workers in order to prevent another security risk, and Prime Minister Netanyahu was finally forced not to bring the proposal to a vote. Not only that, but the ministers responsible for the construction, economy, and finance sectors expressed opposition to the entry of workers, who received overwhelming backing from the police commissioner, who was summoned to the cabinet and expressed strong opposition.
