Ismail Sarraj, commander of the Nuseirat Battalion, and his deputy, Ahmad Wahba, were killed tonight (between Friday and Saturday) in an air force attack, led by the Southern Command and directed by the Intelligence Directorate and the Shin Bet.
Sarraj, commander of the Nuseirat Battalion in the Hamas terrorist organization, formerly served as commander of Hamas' Nukhba Company and as an operative in the manufacture of rocket weapons.

His deputy, Ahmad Wahba, was appointed battalion commander after the IDF and Shin Bet eliminated the previous lieutenant, Abd al-Rahman, in the first weeks of the fighting. He has held a variety of field and staff positions in the Hamas terrorist organization, including dealing with the organization's training program. He also promoted terrorist attacks from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory.
Members of the Nuseirat Battalion took a significant part in the raid on October 7 on the settlements in the envelope and Kibbutz Be'eri in particular. During the fighting, the battalion's operatives promoted anti-tank and UAV fire at IDF forces.
