A squad of three terrorists crossed into Israeli territory in the Har Dov area at night (between Saturday night and Sunday) and was eliminated by an IDF force.

Under cover of the weather, and in an area with complex topography and no fence, the observers apparently could not identify the squad that ambushed the reconnaissance force. The force sought contact and during the exchange of fire the three terrorists were eliminated. During the battle, IDF forces also fired artillery and mortars into the area.
This is an escalation in the war between Israel and Hezbollah over the past 99 days, perhaps an attempt by them to avenge the assassination attributed to Israel last week of al-Tawil, commander of the drone force.
