The main index of the Damascus Securities Exchange, at the end of the third week of trading in January, increased by 92.48 points from last week, boosted by the positive results for the shares of 5 companies, to close at the value of 5884.74 points and with a positive change of 1.60 percent.

The leading stock index, burdened with free shares, "DLX" also increased this week to 22.98 points, by 2.37 percent, and closed at 992.44 points.

And the market recorded this week trading 16 shares of companies and the total trading volume reached 3399437 shares distributed between 545 transactions with a total value of 2,049 billion pounds with the recording of two huge deals on Byblos Bank with a size of 3134994 shares valued at 1,890 billion pounds.

This week witnessed changes to the shares of 6 companies, including the shares of five companies, which is the stock of Badia cement by 3.98 percent, closed at the price of 1171.39 pounds and the stock of Al Baraka Bank Syria by 8.03 percent and closed at the price of 866.12 pounds and the Sham Bank by 6 , 36 percent, closed at the price of 599,27 pounds, Qatar National Bank increased by 3.34 percent, closed at the price of 323.50 pounds, and the share of Syria International Islamic Bank increased by 3.04 percent and closed at the price of 850.25 pounds.

While the only low share was owned by Al-Aqeelah Takaful Insurance Company by 1.96 percent and closed at a price of 300.50 pounds, the 21 companies ’shares did not record any adjustment to their prices and closed equal to the previous closing prices.
