The association Take la une, which campaigns for parity and a better representation of women in the media, received this Thursday the grand prize of the jury of the Assises du journalisme de Tours, AFP noted.
The association, which also fights against harassment in the editorial staff, was chosen against the international project Covering climate now, the investigation collective Disclose and the local investigation site Médiacités, which were also nominated in this category.
Special Jury Prize for Algerian journalist Khaled Drareni
A special jury prize was also awarded to Algerian journalist Khaled Drareni, correspondent for TV5 Monde and RSF, sentenced to two years in prison for
"inciting unarmed assembly"
and
"undermining national unity"
.
The prize for the best journalistic book went to
“Green algae, the forbidden story”
(Delcourt), an investigation in the form of a comic strip by Inès Léraud and Pierre van Hove;
with a special mention for
"One minute and forty-nine seconds"
(Actes Sud), Riss's poignant story of the Charlie Hebdo attack in 2015. The prize for the best research book on journalism was awarded to Marie-Eve Thérenty for
"Women of the press, women of letters"
(CNRS editions) and that of the best survey or report on the sector to Roman Bornstein, for
"RT, the Russian channel which is shaking up the French media"
(
Vanity Fair
).
