The unemployment rate in the United States is closer to 10% than the official 6.7%, said Wednesday the President of the American Central Bank (Fed), Jerome Powell.

If we count the mass of workers who have given up actively seeking work,
"the real unemployment rate is close to 10%"
, said Jerome Powell at a press conference after a meeting Fed monetary policy;
he stressed that the rate of participation in employment
"was significantly below its level"
before the pandemic, adding that
"there is still a long way to go before reaching our employment targets"
