The General Company for Metallurgical Industries (Barada) is preparing during 2022 to open new business horizons and add products to its basket, which includes 15 products, as it sold more than two billion pounds last year, according to its director, Engineer Ali Abbas.
Eng. Abbas explained to SANA’s representative the company’s intention during the current year to introduce air conditioners to its product basket, which is witnessing an increasing demand for it “for the quality they enjoy and their conformity with the Syrian standard specifications, in addition to their prices that are less than those of their counterparts in the local market by about 20 percent,” in addition to the after service Sale that includes a warranty for a specified period of time with the availability of spare parts needed for maintenance.
The director of the company revealed that a contract had been signed with the Center for Scientific Studies and Research to rehabilitate, maintain and operate the 2000 g micron plastic injection machine, with national efforts and expertise, which would enable the company to open new work fronts for the manufacture of plastic tools for public and private sectors and achieve greater added value in the production process.
The company is currently working, as indicated by its manager, to open a hall for sale in the city of Aleppo in the maintenance center after rehabilitating it, in addition to rehabilitating its chalets in the Heisha area in Tartous for optimal investment, as he put it.
According to Engineer Abbas, Barada marketed 2.028 billion pounds worth of household electrical appliances during 2021, and sales included about 881 refrigerators of various sizes, 599 vacuum cleaners, 460 washing machines and 274 fans, in addition to dozens of electric ovens, water coolers, mixers, cookers and others.
According to engineer Abbas, the company recorded during 2021 a production valued at 2.366 billion, stressing that the remaining household appliances from last year’s production are legally marketed in accordance with the agreement that includes Syrian trade in all Barada products and sold in its halls spread in the governorates with installment sales for state workers in addition to what the social enterprise rents Military to its halls as well as company halls.
Abbas indicated that the company has equipment, including (CNC programmed sorting machine), (spark shearing machine) and (wire shearing machine) that manufacture molds of various types and are currently operated by others through a contract with one of the private parties, which secures a stable income for the company in addition. To put a 150-ton hydraulic press into service soon.
