Completely absent from Ukraine and Russia, the Avril group is not spared the consequences of the war between the two countries.
The heavyweight of vegetable oils with its Lesieur and Puget brands, animal nutrition and biodiesels, is thus in the process of urgently reorganizing to try to continue to fill the shelves as well as possible in the coming months.
In fact, Ukraine represents half of world exports of sunflower oil, in which Avril is the leader in France with its Lesieur brand.
"With Russia, this would represent over a year 80% of the world's exported volumes, blocked in the Black Sea"
, supports Jean-Philippe Puig, the general manager of the group with 5.8 billion euros in turnover.

Concretely, Avril is not worried about its Lesieur and Fruit d'Or brands (14% of the volumes of sunflower oil sold in France in supermarkets) for which it sources 100% French seeds.
