Tomi Schnefeld was appointed CEO of Yad2 Group - Walla! Money

Tomi Shanfeld has been appointed CEO of the Yad2 Group and will replace CEO Yavin Gil Mor, who is leaving to pursue new challenges in an Israeli-international startup.

Shanfeld was appointed to the position after a thorough and intensive search process carried out by the company for the appointment of a new CEO, and will take up his position starting in mid-January 2023. Under the Yad2 group you can find the company "Drushim il" and other ventures.



Shanfeld joins Lid2 after leading the operations of the online commerce sites Groupon and Groo-in Israel for the past 10 years. He holds a degree in economics from Columbia University in York and has served, among other things, as an investment banker on Wall Street and as a strategic consultant to global companies. Schnefeld was chosen to lead the Yad2 Group in an exciting and significant period that includes multi-year plans for growth and expansion, in which a wide range of services More, technology and product improvements, and strategic investments in new business ventures.



In July 2021, Schnafeld led the sale of the shopping sites Groo (formerly Groupon) and Aligam to the mall giant Melisron.. After the purchase, he continued in his role as CEO of Groo, while leading Melisron's digital transformation of commercial real estate.

Groupon Israel was bought in 2010 by Groupon Global and worked under it for about seven years.

In 2017, Schnefeld together with the SKY Foundation led the purchase of Groupon in Israel, founded Groo and served as its CEO, turning it into one of the largest e-commerce markets in Israel. In 2019 Groo purchased Baligam for approximately NIS 4.6 million.

Gilmore led the 2nd hand sale to Walla!

from the Bezeq Group in 2009 at a value of NIS 156 million, and later in 2014 led its sale to the German press publisher Axel Springer for approximately NIS 800 million.
