Family farms for the production of fish fingerlings are one of the most important projects that the General Authority for Fish Wealth encourages those interested to expand their establishment through its participation in the Damascus International Fair in its 61st session because it provides for the needs of families of fish and achieve economic returns to them in addition to explaining the research carried out by the Authority to increase production Fish.

Eng. Amal Mohammed, Director of the Southern Region Branch in the Commission confirmed in a statement to SANA delegate that the Commission is concerned with the sale of fingerlings to breeders to encourage fish farming and we are presenting the projects implemented in the wing of the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, affirming the readiness of the Commission to answer any query regarding the cultivation and breeding of fish for visitors and interested Water bodies and ponds with clean water.

According to Mohammed, the authority has managed to grow one million fingerlings out of the planned 1,200,000 fingerprints for 2019, noting that the rest of the plan will be produced during the remaining months of this year, noting that each finger planted produces the equivalent of one kilogram of freshwater fish.

Engineer Batoul Al-Abadi, in charge of the Commission's wing at the Damascus International Fair, pointed out in a similar statement that the Commission is concerned with scientific research to produce fish fingerlings and distribute them to the productive farms in four governorates of Lattakia, Tartous, Homs and Quneitra. Lattakia with a production capacity of 50 tons during the breeding period starting from April.

Abadi confirmed that a study has been completed to integrate fish farming in a way that is planting the plant in the same aquarium where fish are raised to be a source of food for him and at the same time take advantage of fish residues as fertilizer for plants.
