Almost two thousand events organized all over the world, from the United States to Canada, from South America to Arabia to Europe.
About a hundred initiatives in Italy, including those of the Italian Amateur Astronomers Union (Uai) and the Virtual Telescope Project.
The international appointment is an opportunity to propose observations to the telescope dedicated to the Moon, which today is in its first quarter, and to deepen topics such as its formation, past and planned space missions, mythology, poetry, music and the different artistic expressions inspired by our natural satellite.
In Italy, the special event organized for October 16 at the Monte Viseggi Astronomical Observatory in La Spezia with the theme game 'Moon' and observations of the stars, whose images, taken live by the telescopes, are projected on a monitor. Telescopes aimed at our satellite also at the astronomical observatory of Punta Falcone di Piombino. while the Association of Ravennate Astrofili Rheyta (Arar) proposes the event 'La Luna dantesca' at the Classense library in Ravenna.
In the United States, NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center, on the other hand, organizes a virtual observation and continues the celebrations with activities on social media, while a live streaming of the Moon organized by the British Space Agency is scheduled from the island of Cyprus.
