Isabella Internò, the ex-girlfriend of Donato "Denis" Bergamini, the Cosenza footballer who died on November 18, 1989 on state road 106, near the Castle of Roseto Capo Spulico, was sent to trial on the charge of murder.
This was decided by the gup of Castrovillari Fabio Lelio Festa, accepting the request of the prosecutor Luca Primicerio.
The first hearing of the trial was set for next 25 October.
Isabella Internò is accused of complicity in Bergamini's murder aggravated by premeditation and futile reasons.
Neither Internò nor Bergamini's sister Donata were present in the classroom.
During the hearing, the lawyer Angelo Pugliese, defender of Isabella Internò, in his speech which lasted about three hours, illustrated the defense arguments asking not to proceed with his client. The Bergamini family was represented by the lawyer Fabio Anselmo.
