Crime scene in Sweden: Einár is dead

A rapper popular in his Swedish homeland was shot dead not far from the center of Stockholm.
As reported by several Swedish media unanimously, the 19-year-old Einár, real name Nils Kurt Erik Einar Grönberg, was killed by several bullets on Thursday evening in the Hammarby Sjöstad district.
A police spokeswoman confirmed the death of a 19-year-old from being shot at the location but, in accordance with Swedish police practice, did not reveal the victim's name.
According to the police spokeswoman, the police were alerted about the shooting around 11 p.m.
Despite first aid, the 19-year-old's life could no longer be saved.
The police are investigating murder and several witnesses are being questioned, the spokeswoman said.
Einár had already been the victim of an attempted kidnapping last year.
His rival Yasin, with whom Einár was publicly in dispute, is said to have been behind the crime.
Yasin was sentenced to ten months in prison for the attempted kidnapping last July.
"Again a young life has been wiped out, and I know that it meant a lot to many young people," said Prime Minister Stefan Löfven of the Swedish news agency ITT.
According to media reports, Einár was under protection.
Einár is hardly known in Germany.
In his Swedish homeland, however, he is a name that has gained notoriety well beyond the hip-hop scene.
He had his breakthrough in 2019 with the song »Katten i trakten« (The cat in the area).
In the same year he was the most popular artist on Spotify in Sweden, as SVT had reported - in front of international stars like the late DJ Avicii and pop stars like Ed Sheeran and Billie Eilish.
