When the world is upside down, only one thing helps: relaxation!

Petra Silberbauer from Untermarchenbach (Haag municipality) took advantage of the corona-related forced break from work - and published three books.

Haag

- In times like these, relaxation is probably the most important thing you can give yourself or others.

Thanks to the fitness trainer, trainer and speaker in the fitness area, Petra Silberbauer from Untermarchenbach, there is now relaxation from the region: for reading, reading aloud and even listening to her podcast.

The 54-year-old has published three books with relaxation stories since the beginning of the Corona crisis.

The fourth is in the starting blocks.

Why the stories that she has been writing for eight years now had to wait so long for publication and what Petra Silberbauer's daughter has to do with the fact that her mother has finally tackled the whole thing, the author explains in an FT interview.

Ms. Silberbauer, you used the first lockdown to finally bring “your baby” into the world: two books by you were already published last year.

Her third one last week.

How did it come about?

I've been writing relaxation stories for eight years, which I always read in my yoga classes.

My daughter reminded me that I taught my kids the importance of getting projects done.

Due to Corona, I suddenly had a lot more time than usual. This book project gave my day a structure, I sorted my stories, wrote more - and I was very lucky.

to find a publisher quickly.

Actually, my daughter hit me with my own guns (laughs).

Without her and this reference to my own words, I would probably not have done it.

So it was your dream to put the stories in a book?

It has been my dream to write a book for a lifetime.

But somehow I was always a bit too cowardly for that.

And maybe too modest?

The stories were there, just waiting to be published.

.

.

I'm not someone who stands up and says: Look here, I wrote a book.

I like to hide and am not the big "saleswoman", especially when it comes to myself.

I don't want to push myself to the fore.

I had to and must learn a lot.

Who did you write all these stories for?

Who are your books aimed at?

To be honest, I wrote it for myself. On the one hand, there were very practical reasons for the book: I wanted this mess of paper to end, so that I could take my story compact and bound with me to my courses and read from it.

The thought that I could and would also sell the books was far behind at the beginning, that wasn't my point at all.

That it is so now is of course nice, but it is not the most important thing to me.

In the most recent book, for example, I processed Corona and my experiences and experiences.

I only became aware of this after my daughter read it and pointed it out to me.

The stories are about holiday feelings, morning blues, the way to work and gut feelings.

It is a meditation for more appreciation to be found in it.

The book is more serious compared to the others.

I put in my story how I was doing.

As I said, my daughter noticed that immediately and was also a little sad to see her mom from this side.

With what intention did you publish the stories?

The third book is now clearly with the intention that people who feel and have gone that way will find themselves in it.

But to be honest, I also hope that people who are stuck in selfishness in the pandemic will wake up and turn their gaze to the right and left again to see that it can only work well together.

I want to make you think.

Besides your daughter, who will always be the first to enjoy hearing your stories?

These are my course participants or the participants in my training courses when the topic of relaxation is on the program.

Do the course participants know that the stories they are hearing are from you?

And: do the Hague people know that you have published three books in the meantime?

I'm sure some don't know.

As I said: I'm not a person who likes to ring that up.

I once had my book cover as a profile picture.

Most thought it was a general book recommendation.

Are there any plans for the next work?

That is already done and is currently being proofread.

The publisher approached me with a request to write a relaxation book for children because the demand is currently so great.

It's a terrifying development that makes me sad.

But if I can help the little ones a little on their way with my stories, I am of course very happy to do so.

I am in close contact with a teacher because of course taking children on a relaxation trip is something completely different.

Are you considering offering online relaxation courses - perhaps via the VfR?

Or readings?

I am open to everything, but want to stay down to earth.

I can't even imagine going on a reading tour.

A relaxation course, on the other hand, does - if necessary.

I haven't thought about it yet.

The most important thing at the end: What are your books called and where can they be obtained?

"Relaxation stories, 50 little stories for new energy", "Relaxation stories - 40 fantasy journeys through the seasons" and "Relaxation stories from life - 50 relaxation journeys about everyday situations and breathing".

You can order them wherever there are books.
