A company from Wartenberg is the focus of serious allegations.

The managing director admits to having threatened employees who wanted to be tested for Corona.

Wartenberg

- An employee raises serious allegations against the management of Metallbau Pröbst in Wartenberg.

This wants to "keep silent" positive corona cases.

In addition, the company threatens employees with consequences if they volunteer to be tested.

The employee (name of the editors known), who lives in the Erding district, wants to file a complaint about coercion.

The managing director denies the allegations - but ultimately no longer in full.

“Legal steps are being examined with regard to the baseless allegations,” explains his lawyer.

The company still runs under the name Pröbst, but has nothing to do with Mayor Christian Pröbst.

As reported several times, he sold her after his election as community chief.

The company now runs under the umbrella of Stegerer GmbH Metallbau from Regenstauf in the Regensburg district.

Corona: Wartenberg company boss threatened employees willing to test - employee unpacks

The locksmith has reported four positive corona cases since Tuesday, February 16 - all from the same construction site on which she does not work herself.

The other employees - in Wartenberg there were around 30 in total - had not been informed of the cases by the company.

“We wanted to be tested voluntarily.

But then it was said: 'If you want to be tested, you get in trouble.' "She and her colleagues only found out about the cases from one of the infected people, the employee asserts.

You even asked the managing director whether there was Corona in the company, but he had writhed around an answer.

The woman hasn't gone to work for two weeks.

She is on probation and does not want to work for such a company any more.

"They should throw me out, I don't care."

Corona: No tests, no masks, no distance - violent allegations against Wartenberger metal construction company

The locksmith also reports that up to six people can drive to construction sites in a seven-seater - and that without a mask.

Our newspaper received a call from another employee who fully agrees with his colleague's allegations.

Andrea Wolf from the Erding Health Office confirms the positive corona cases, there are even five.

These were sent in isolation.

An inspection of the company took place on Tuesday, during which the employees present were tested.

The office did not expect the results until yesterday Thursday at the earliest.

The locksmith already had herself tested last week - she is negative.

Corona cases at metal construction company: boss threatened employees willing to test with "trouble"

The manager communicated with our newspaper through his lawyer.

She announces that "the company and the management comply with all regulations (laws, ordinances) to contain the coronavirus, in particular distance, hygiene, etc., and implement the requirements of the locally responsible health department".

It is not true that people who have tested positive are not informed.

"Incidentally, this would also be the task of the health department to order quarantine for contact persons who have tested positive," says the lawyer.

The company's hygiene concept was not objected to during the inspection.

She also contradicts the allegations that masks are not worn in the car and that people willing to test have been threatened with trouble.

“The employees were only informed about the requirements of the health department as to when to get tested;

in case of illness or in contact with a person who tested positive as contact person 1, but not for absolutely no reason ”, says the lawyer.

The Regensburg Health Department also takes this view.

"Since there are certainly false positive tests, this would lead to unnecessary quarantine measures and consequently problems in the work processes, which should be avoided as far as possible," she said.

Surprisingly, the editors of the

Erdinger Anzeiger,

which had been researching for a week this week, received a call from the managing director on Wednesday (March 3rd) in which he admitted that he had threatened the employees with trouble - namely, “if you volunteer , contact and symptom-free, can be tested ”.

The health authorities in Regensburg and Erding would also not consider it useful to have yourself tested.

Corona tests at Wartenberger metal construction company: companies are probably not an isolated case

However, that sounds different from the Erdingen authority: “The Erding Health Department has not issued any information that voluntary, unprovoked tests should be avoided.

According to the Bavarian test strategy, every citizen is free to be tested without a reason, ”said Head of Department Wolf.

“This claim is of course not restricted by the health department.

The information provided by the Regensburg District Office is beyond our knowledge. ”The Erdinger Office emphasizes that it“ does not advise anyone to be tested, especially since we are legally not in a position to restrict the right to voluntary testing ”.

Are there comparable processes in the district?

"There have been isolated cases in which the companies or institutions have been hesitant to pass the information they need on to the health department," reports the authority.

In all cases, however, the companies were ultimately cooperative.

The employee has members of the risk group in her family, one of whom has a serious heart condition.

"We have a responsibility to our fellow human beings," says the woman who goes public about it.

“You can't get the pandemic under control if you tacitly accept something like that,” she is convinced.

Incidentally, the managing director would have liked to find out your name in the past few days.

The

Erdinger Anzeiger

has a screenshot from a chat history of the company.

In it the boss writes: "Whoever delivers the traitor to me will receive 1000 euros in cash from me."
