At the beginning of the deliberations, Mayor Franz Heilmeier emphasized that this topic “should also be considered beyond Corona”. There are both good arguments for allowing hybrid meetings and good reasons for insisting on face-to-face meetings. The costs are likely to be “not insignificant”, the implementation provisions are still very vague. Of course, everyone agreed on one thing: hybrid meetings would be a turning point, a turning point, the culture of debate in the local council would definitely change.

Maximilian Heumann from the SPD, which had already submitted the hybrid meeting application in February, emphasized: "Digitization is the future, we don't need to fool ourselves." to better unite a parish council.

And as for the fear that at some point only the mayor would be physically present, Heumann asked that the elected officials be trusted.

Manfred Holzer (FW) said that his group was also in favor of examining the introduction of hybrid meetings. The FW saw the advantages of combining work and family with volunteering, but his group would advocate a minimum quota of attendance. And there are still reservations about the technical implementation or the secrecy of non-public meetings. From Julia Mokry (Greens) came a clear yes: “We are fundamentally in favor of hybrid meetings.” And the CSU also spoke out in favor of the inspection order, so Ozan Iyibas - even if there are still many unanswered questions. In the end, the order was given to the administration with a dissenting vote.
