A turtle died in a cellar fire in Murnau on Sunday afternoon.

Murnau
- For an unexplained cause, a cellar fire broke out on Sunday afternoon in a house on Philosophenweg in Murnau.
A turtle died in the process.
Forces of the volunteer fire brigade noticed strong smoke development in the basement of a single family house.
Equipped with heavy respiratory protection, they made their way.
They could put out the fire quickly.
Second turtle in veterinary clinic
Two turtles made their home in the cellar.
The fire brigade volunteers quickly brought the animals outside.
But for one thing, any help came too late.
“The second turtle was brought to a veterinary clinic in Munich by its owners,” reported commander Florian Krammer.
After it was properly ventilated, the house was smoke-free again.
Krammer and his 25 comrades were able to leave after an hour and return to the tool shed.
Fortunately, the BRK rescue service did not have to intervene.
