A strong earthquake occurred on Saturday July 24 off the Philippines, according to the US Seismological Bureau USGS, but it was very deep and local authorities did not expect significant damage.

The 6.7 magnitude earthquake struck off the main island of Luzon at 4:48 a.m. local time (10:48 p.m. Friday in France), 112 km deep.
A 5.8 magnitude aftershock followed a few minutes later, also at great depth.
