The Excellence and Creativity Authority and the Higher Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology signed today an agreement to deepen and expand the scientific and strategic partnership in the field of sponsoring excellence and creativity, developing scientific research and exchanging experiences and resources.
Under the agreement signed by Engineer Hala Dakkak, head of the commission, and Dr. Maher Suleiman, director of the institute at the institute’s headquarters in Damascus, the Higher Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology accepts students from graduates of the National Center for Excellence who have medals in international scientific Olympiads, develop academic programs, and dispatch and absorb their graduates.
The Higher Institute and the Authority cooperate in the scientific aspect, such as following some courses or undertaking graduation projects at the Higher Institute and facilitating mutual benefit from human expertise and material and logistical capabilities to support scientific and educational activities, to attract cases of excellence, to discover, develop and sponsor talent, and to develop and establish mechanisms to incubate and develop creative ideas and projects emanating from the groups it sponsors Each of them is in research and development projects, consultations and studies under contracts and agreements as needed and others in the areas of cooperation.
Within the framework of integration and sharing of research resources, the Higher Institute facilitates the possibility for the authority to benefit from its laboratories, equipment and services to carry out its own research.
Training and rehabilitation takes part in the cooperation agreement between the two parties through the establishment of joint training courses in scientific, academic and technical topics that fall within their interest, or through the assistance of either party to the other team in the rehabilitation and training activities that it organizes.
The signing of the agreement was attended by Dr. Bassam Ibrahim, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
