The day of aliyah takes place at the height of the week of aliyah, and is celebrated every year on the seventh day of Cheshvan, near the parsha "Lech Lech" in the book of Genesis, which tells of the giving of the divine command to Abraham to go to the land of Israel. The Aliyah Day Law is intended to emphasize the "importance of aliyah to Israel as a basis for the existence of the State of Israel, its development and its design as a multicultural society."

Immigration and Absorption Minister Pnina Tamano Sheta said that "I worked in the government so that immigration to Israel did not stop for a moment, even during the Corona period and the closures. Immigration to Israel is the fulfillment of the Zionist dream. I am happy about the large increase in immigrants. To assist immigrants in the process of immigration and absorption in Israel. "

The chairman of the World Zionist Organization and acting chairman of the Jewish Agency, Yaakov Hagoel, said that "the increase in the number of immigrants, despite the challenging period and the severe restrictions imposed by the global epidemic on the transition from country to country, excites me every time I hear about immigrant flights. "A strategic asset of the State of Israel and contributors to all areas of life in the country, we all need and are committed to helping them absorb them. Excellent to the immigrant, our strength is rising."

Since the outbreak of the Corona crisis, the Ministry of Aliyah and Absorption and the Jewish Agency have operated a special outline for aliyah in order to allow the flow of immigrants to Israel to continue and to help immigrants arrive in Israel despite cancellations and closures in various countries around the world.

According to the estimates of the Ministry of Aliyah and Absorption and the Jewish Agency at the end of the corona crisis in the world, the flow of immigrants to Israel is even expected to increase even more.
