A 15-year-old boy, a yeshiva student in Bnei Brak, was questioned on suspicion of sexually harassing dozens of girls aged 8-6 in the central area, the police announced today (Wednesday).
Upon completion of his interrogation, the suspect boy was sent to house arrest under restrictive conditions and bail from his parents.
The boy was arrested following an undercover investigation conducted by police from the youth department at the Petah Tikva station for the past two months, after receiving complaints about suspicion that a young boy was sexually touching a girl on the street.
According to police, the investigation was "accelerated on the covert level, using many technological means, until the arrest of the suspect."
"This special cooperation between all the residents and the ultra-Orthodox community in Petah Tikva and the police, has brought security back to our neighborhood and to the childhood of us all. Once again, trust and joint work have been shown to yield good results," the residents said in a statement.
