(ANSA) - MILAN, DEC 28 - Two women, mother and daughter, aged 71 and 48 respectively, were found lifeless in their apartment in Sesto San Giovanni, near Milan, where they practically lived in self-enclosure.
The dramatic discovery was made yesterday by the Carabinieri following the report of some acquaintances who had tried to call the two women on the phone for Christmas greetings without being able to contact them.
The 71-year-old was reported to have health problems, in particular she was walking with difficulty. The Monza Prosecutor's Office is investigating the matter, which ordered an autopsy to ascertain the causes of death.
According to reports, mother and daughter lived very privately.
Furthermore, from the first investigations, it emerged that the first died by natural death and that the daughter, who took care of her elderly mother in precarious health conditions, took her own life a few days later.
To get a definitive picture, however, the autopsy exams must be completed. (ANSA).
