Tax credit: 5.3 billion euros paid to households on Monday

2022-01-17T07:06:35.685Z

As of January 17, 8.7 million households having benefited from a tax benefit in 2021 will receive an advance from Bercy.

This should give a little breath of fresh air to some French people, who are increasingly concerned about their purchasing power in the face of the resumption of inflation in a context of persistent health crisis.

This Monday, January 17, 8.7 million households who already received tax credits or reductions last year for, for example, a home-based employee, will receive an advance of 60% for 2022. They will thus touch 5.3 billion euros, or 605 euros per household on average, said last week the Ministry of the Economy.

Implemented in 2019 when the withholding tax (PAS) was introduced, this measure thus avoids households having to wait until next summer, once the 2021 income tax return has been sent to the tax authorities, to collect part of the tax benefits to which they are entitled.

For example, for expenses incurred for an employee at home, childcare or donations.

The objective is to improve the cash flow of many families.
