Damascus Countryside, SANA- Unremitting efforts are being exerted by the cadres of the Damascus Countryside Traffic Branch and the Public Roads Police Station in Zabadani since the hour

Rif Dimashq-SANA

Unremitting efforts have been made by the cadres of the Damascus Countryside Traffic Branch and the Public Roads Police Station in Zabadani since seven in the morning on the Damascus-Beirut highway to restore traffic to the road after it was closed due to heavy snowfall, especially on the “Zabadani axis towards the immigration center.”

Director of the Traffic Department, Brigadier General Jihad Al-Saadi, explained in a statement to SANA that snowplows and heavy machinery immediately headed to the main road connecting Jdeidet Yabous to the Lebanese border and worked to open the road in cooperation with the concerned authorities to sprinkle salt on the road sections in the well-known slopes and curves that do not reach the rays. The sun and ice form in it in a dangerous situation that affects the movement of vehicles and may lead to accidents, especially at known points on the highway, the Deir al-Asheer opening, the descent of Wadi Muqrin, and the descent of the Tekiya until the Zabadani plain.

Brigadier General Al-Saadi indicated that the presence of a number of parked and idle trucks on the side of the road coming from Lebanon to Syria was also addressed, parking them on the right of the road and clearing snow in front of cars passing in both directions.

The Director of the Traffic Department pointed out that the road is currently traveling easily in both directions, noting the efforts of the cadres of the Damascus Countryside Traffic Branch and the Public Roads Police Station in Zabadani to secure the road and keep traffic moving.
