Shots fired in the neighborhood prompted a larger police presence in Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn and in Taufkirchen.

District

– More than 30 police officers arrived on Saglerstrasse in Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn on Friday evening.

At around 9:40 p.m., a witness had reported via the police emergency number 110 that a person was firing shots from a balcony on the first floor of an apartment building.

Large numbers of police first located the apartment that belongs to the balcony and then overpowered a 56-year-old man who was responsible for the shooting.

Drunk offender to sober up in police cell

The heavily intoxicated man who lives in Munich visited a relative in Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn.

In the apartment, the police officers seized a pistol, which was used to fire the shots, and some ammunition.

The 56-year-old received a complaint about a violation of the weapons law and was taken into police custody because of his heavy drinking.

He was allowed to leave the police station in Ottobrunn around 5:30 a.m. on Saturday morning.

Gas hurts airways

A police emergency call on Saturday evening in Taufkirchen was again about a shot.

At around 8:10 p.m., a witness reported that there had been a loud bang in an apartment building on Platanenstrasse.

She left her apartment to look in the hallway to see what might have been the cause.

The woman noticed an unusual smell and went back into the apartment.

Several police patrol cars, also from Munich, and the fire brigade immediately rushed to the house.

The emergency services also noticed the unusual smell, but investigations by the fire brigade in the property did not reveal any evidence of a fire.

Nevertheless, there was still a strange smell in the air - a total of nine people, including four police officers and two fire brigade personnel, even complained of slight health problems in the respiratory tract.

So the emergency services continued to investigate the causes – and finally came across a 44-year-old from Taufkirchner, who also complained of irritation of the respiratory tract.

Further investigations revealed that the clearly intoxicated man, who lives in a neighboring house, had fired a shot with a gas pistol in the hallway "due to a negative emotional state", according to the press report from the Munich police headquarters.

Small arsenal of weapons in the apartment

The police then searched both the apartment in front of which the shooting took place and where the 44-year-old was visiting, as well as his own apartment.

Officers seized seven pistols, a revolver and ammunition.

The Taufkirchner was reported for dangerous bodily harm and violation of the weapons law.

All people affected by the respiratory irritation received on-site outpatient treatment from the emergency services.
