Two floors, a lot of wood on the facade, large windows, flat roof: This is how the extension of the Fuchstal day care center should look like.

The project is expected to cost 7.5 million euros and will be realized next year or the year after that.

Fuchstal - With a large extension to the existing day care center in Fuchstal, the aim is to meet the demand for childcare places and at the same time the lack of space in the existing building.

The new building, which will be completed in 2023 or 2024, will add another 74 to the 140 places.

Then there are over 200 places in standard and crèche groups in the Fuchstal.

Organizationally, there will be two kindergartens each with their own directors.

But it is not only the size of the facility in the community of 4,100 inhabitants that has reached dimensions that are hardly known for a kindergarten even in cities.

There are also the costs: the municipality will have to raise 7.5 million euros for the extension alone, according to Mayor Erwin Karg when asked by KREISBOTEN.

This is due to the sharp rise in prices in the construction sector.

And it also has to do with the fact that, in addition to the rooms for an additional four groups, several functional areas such as the kitchen, rooms for management and meetings, and storage areas are taken into account.

Vera Schmid and Daniela Kieselbach from the kindergarten management were also present when the current plans were presented to the municipal council.

They were already involved in the previous plans for expanding the day care center.

Two floors

Alexander Guggemos from the Barbist office (Lechaschau and Innsbruck) presented the design.

North of the existing day-care center between the villages of Leeder and Asch, a new building is being erected that is a good 20 meters wide and has two floors.

Two mangers with sleeping quarters and adjoining rooms are planned below;

on the other side (to the east) are the office of the kindergarten director and a meeting room.

On the upper floor there are two regular groups for three to six year old boys and girls.

The rooms are oriented to the south-west, just like in the nativity scene below.

There are also rooms for designing, working and moving as well as a Snoezelen room for relaxing.

In the middle of the large extension there is a lot of space that can be used for various activities.

Architect Guggemos predicted that other groups could possibly be accommodated there.

The planner emphasized that during the construction period, the previous kindergarten, which was built in the mid-1960s and has been enlarged several times, can continue to be operated without major restrictions.

At the entrance, between the existing building and the new building, there is a flat intermediate building in which the kitchen and dining area are placed.

There were several questions in the municipal council - among other things about the planned flat roof, but no resolutions.

Next, the specialist planners for the individual trades such as electrical or heating/sanitary/ventilation are commissioned.

Then the advanced planning is discussed.
