The Bayonne festivals celebrated their 90th anniversary this year.
After two consecutive cancellations due to Covid-19, the event took place in a "
generally peaceful

However, one rape and 210 criminal acts were recorded by the authorities.
In total, the five days of celebrations attracted between 1.1 and 1.2 million people, which represents an increase of 15% compared to the previous edition.
The celebrations were marred by a series of violence, including Philippe Le Moing-Surzur and Caroline Parizel, deputy prosecutor, took stock during a press conference.
Four complaints of violence, particularly with a knife, were recorded, as well as 17 snatching and 139 thefts of laptops.

Regarding the 1662 checks carried out in the Bayonne region by the gendarmes for driving while intoxicated or under the influence of narcotics, 73 were positive.
A total of 36 people were taken into custody.
At the same time, the authorities reported a complaint filed for gang rape.

, it is a woman in her forties who was attacked while alone on the night of Friday to Saturday, looking for a friend.
A judicial investigation has been opened by the Bayonne prosecutor's office.
Sixty complaints for wild bites
At the same time, 1,400 people were taken care of by the emergency services, including 124 for suspected bites, resulting in 60 complaints and 14 samples.
This phenomenon, which spread to festive events without finding an explanation, was closely monitored by the authorities.
