PV systems for the Kirchheim fire station and other municipal buildings

So that things can move forward quickly: the municipality of Kirchheim has commissioned a citizen energy cooperative with four projects.

Kirchheim – In 2023, the Bürger-Energie-Genossenschaft (BENG) will set up photovoltaic systems on four roofs of community-owned houses.

Municipal councils of the JU thought it would make more sense if the municipality did this itself and thus had the benefit of generating electricity.

Several PV systems have already been installed on municipal roofs in Kirchheim.

The system on the elementary and middle school and on the residential building at Caramanicostraße 5 (tenant electricity) was built in cooperation with BENG;

the PV systems on the roof of the building yard and on the Silva elementary school with "Solarkraftwerke München Land GmbH", the system on the residential building at Rosenstraße 10 with the construction company München Land (BML).

Kirchheim citizens can participate financially

Four more systems with a total of 160 kWp are now to be built.

The administration proposes the houses of the St. Christophorus crèche, the Kirchheim fire brigade on Florianstraße, the daycare center on Schlehenring and the daycare center on Hans-Dasch-Weg.

BENG is to build, plan, finance, install and operate the facilities, and Kirchheim citizens can contribute financially.

The electricity generated is to be used by the community to operate the building at competitive and comparable conditions.

The municipality does not incur any costs for the construction and operation of the system.

Petra Mayr (CSU) criticized that the large roof areas of the Ursel-Rechenmacher-Haus of Kirchheimer SC were not taken into account.

"Right next to it is the Merowinger Hof, whose large roof is to be renovated soon, so it would be a good idea." Michaela Harlander (SPD) brought the roofs of the Collegium 2000 into play.

Environmental officer Josef Hermann said that BENG had examined and evaluated numerous houses in the village, "these four have just been selected for 2023, and there will definitely be more later."

Mayor Maximilian Böltl (CSU) added that the most interesting and fastest-to-implement projects have now been taken so that something can happen quickly.

Franz Glasl (JU) said that from his point of view it would make much more sense if the community built and operated the systems themselves.

“The community would then have a lot more of the cheap electricity it generates.

I would urgently recommend an economic feasibility study first.” Böltl replied that if the community did it themselves, it would take much longer, even if it might be a bit more economical.

According to Böltl, the aim of the municipality is "to implement the systems quickly and efficiently, we have had good experiences with BENG." Environmental officer Hermann said that the price of electricity at BENG was capped at a maximum of 30 cents per kWh.

“So the price cannot go up indefinitely.

The administration's proposal was accepted against two votes by the JU.

Before the construction of systems on other roofs, however, an economic feasibility study should be carried out.
