Pedestrians fall, the zoo remains closed – many accidents on black ice in Bavaria

Black ice caused numerous accidents in parts of Bavaria, pedestrians fell on the slippery paths.
The Nuremberg Zoo remains closed for security reasons.
Nuremberg – It was freezing cold in Bavaria at the weekend.
When farmers with their decorated tractors made children's eyes beam with joy during their tour of Höchstadt, the thermometer showed minus 6 degrees.
Minus 15 degrees were even forecast for some parts of Bavaria.

Red alert in Bavaria: DWD warns of black ice - numerous accidents
On Monday morning, December 19, northern Bavaria was even on red alert.
The DWD issued an official storm warning of black ice.
Slippery roads and paths then also kept pedestrians and motorists busy in Franconia.
In Central Franconia, the police registered 45 weather-related accidents on the roads within four hours by the morning, with some minor injuries and mostly body damage.

In Nuremberg, a number of pedestrians also slipped and fell, as a police spokesman said.
The city's zoo remained closed due to the weather so as not to endanger visitors

In Lower Franconia, too, the police reported some traffic accidents on slippery roads.
