The Palestinian security forces suppressed a protest held this evening (Tuesday) in Nablus demanding the release of political and wanted prisoners held in the Palestinian Authority's prison facilities.
The demonstrators placed at the top of their demands the release of Masab Eshetia, a member of Hamas and an activist in the "Erin Alasud" organization, who was arrested about 4 months ago by the security forces of the Palestinian Authority in the heart of Nablus.
Among other things, his wife is considered the most wanted of Israel.

The demonstrators gathered in the center of Nablus and held a procession during which they chanted in support of her wife and demanded his immediate release.
At the same time, some chanted slogans of support for the "Erin Alasud" organization.
The Palestinian security forces were deployed in the area of the procession and dispersed the protest with means of dispersing demonstrations, with some of them being suffocated by inhaling tear gas.
Traders and cattle owners were forced to stop their work.
Palestinian journalists said that the forces tried to prevent them from documenting the events.
"Peaceful demonstration"
The political activist, Amr Assaf, condemned the suppression of the protest and said that "the Palestinian Authority is not serious in dealing with the extreme occupation government, and lies to its residents when it says it is in favor of Palestinian national reconciliation."
Other Palestinian activists attacked the PA and said that "the right of the Palestinian people to demonstrate. People want to express themselves, this was a peaceful demonstration without weapons", they noted.

Meanwhile, in recent weeks the activity of Palestinian human rights organizations has increased against the "arbitrary arrests carried out by the Palestinian Authority".
Protest organizations were seen in the city of Hebron and in other places in the West Bank, but these were quickly suppressed.
These are the arrests of opposition activists from various organizations, who expressed criticism of the Palestinian Authority, as well as the arrests of members of Hamas and Islamic Jihad.
It should be noted that various bodies issued reports at the beginning of the year in which they reported that the Palestinian Authority is hardening its policies and is tightening its hand on activists in the West Bank. They also pointed out the harassment and torture that political detainees undergo in the PA's prison facilities.

The lawyer of Masab Ashtia claimed that despite the court's decision that stated that her wives should be released - the enforcement authorities continue to keep him in prison.
It should be noted that a few days ago a message from his wife was leaked to the media in which he complained about his medical condition and talked about the treatment of him in prison.
As I recall, his arrest led to violent and widespread clashes in the center of Nablus between Palestinian youths and the Palestinian security forces.
Palestinian gunmen fired at the Muqatea building in the city.
Young people burned tires, blocked roads and threw stones at the Palestinian police forces.
Another wanted person was arrested with her wife, Remid Tabila.
