The Center for Food Safety stated today (14th) that a prepackaged instant matsutake rice imported from Japan by City Super Limited named "ONISIFOODS Instant Alpha Rice – Matsutake Mushroom" may contain coconut ingredients that may cause allergies, but it is not in the indicated on the food label.

The CFS appeals to those who are allergic to coconut not to consume the product concerned, and the trade should also stop using or selling the product immediately.

The spokesman of the center pointed out that through the food accident monitoring system, it was informed that the US Food and Drug Administration issued a notice that the above-mentioned product may contain coconut ingredients, but it was not marked on the food label and was being recalled locally. After learning of the incident, it immediately contacted the local main Importers and retailers follow suit.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the above-mentioned importer had imported the affected products and sold them at its retail outlets.

The importer has stopped the sale and removal of the affected products and launched a recall.
