The second edition of the "Gögerltraillaufs" should be as successful as the premiere. The date is March 29th. The run is equally interesting for cracks and amateur joggers.

Weilheim - Almost 150 runners came to the premiere - who in retrospect were enthusiastic about the route. Last but not least, this was an incentive for Lothar Kirsch and his helpers from Post SV Weilheim to offer a "Gögerltraillauf" again. The second edition in the district town increases on Sunday, March 29th. The starting shot is at 10.30 a.m. The possibility to register online is unlocked, around 60 athletes have already registered, said Kirsch during a press conference.

The concept is still to offer runners of all performance classes a varied trail run. The go-ahead is given at the Gögerl sports field, from there it goes in the direction of Hechenberg and via Burgberg and Butterberg in the direction of Deutenhausen and back. The goal is again at the upper Gögerl parking lot, 76 stairs are waiting in the last meters. Around 240 meters of altitude have to be overcome on around 12.8 kilometers. "The route is feasible for normal joggers, but also interesting for the cracks," says Kirsch.

Gögerltraillauf: The number of participants is limited to 300 athletes

For reasons of nature conservation, the number of participants is limited to 300. Post SV has around 25 helpers on the day of the event alone so that the competition can take place. Various requirements have to be met, but the authorities are open to the project. "The city of Weilheim, the nature conservation authority and the forestry office are accommodating us," emphasizes Kirsch. The allotment garden association is also very good, and the athletes run through the area in the finish.

Post SV asks residents, farmers, hikers and cyclists to be considerate of the runners. In the Gögerl area to Längenlaich and in the direction of Deutenhausen, there may be short-term restrictions on the routes on which the athletes are traveling between 8 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. on the day of the event.

Gögerltraillauf: finish with 76 steps

Unlike last year, the start will take place directly on the corner of Trogerstrasse and Weinhartstrasse. The area is marked with a banner so that residents, passers-by and spectators know what is going on there. Post SV uses posters in the city to draw attention to the competition. Winners will be determined in four age groups, the top three will receive prizes in addition to certificates. A little gag: The athletes on the "ungrateful fourth place" also get a present. What this looks like will only be revealed at the award ceremony (1.30 p.m. / Pizzeria "Massimo"). With a raffle, all starters have chances for further prizes.

Information: Further information on the “2. Gögerltraillauf ”on Sunday, March 29th, is available at www.goegerltraillauf.de. You can register there. Late registration is possible on the day of the event up to 1 hour before the start (provided the participant limit has not yet been reached).
