Watch Nate Robinson snatch a knockout in his first boxing match (Sports 1)
For months, former basketball player Nate Robinson was preparing for his boxing debut against Jake Paul, the 23-year-old brother of famed YouTuber Logan Paul.
But expectations are separate and reality is separate.
After the first round of probing, the two advanced to the second round quite aggressively.
Robinson pushed his opponent and kept moving towards him.
Paul did the right thing, took a few steps back and caught Robinson just in time with an impressive right winger, who sent ex-Hapoel Tel Aviv to a nap on the mat.
For long minutes he remained on the mat, until the medical staff arrived on the scene and helped him recover from the brutal knockout he received.
Across the network it was difficult to remain indifferent to the end of the fight, and many NBA players, past and present, responded to events on social media.
"Thank you all for the announcements and best wishes for recovery," Robinson wrote on his Instagram account after the fight.
"I'm fine. I thank everyone for this rare opportunity and of course the team that prepared me for the battle. Thank you for all the time you devoted to me, even though I could not win. Anyway, I got to fight on a huge stage and it's a rare opportunity, it makes me very happy."

While many past NBA players mocked Nate after the defeat, gunman Gilbert Arenas actually supported his friend.
"Knight, you snatched a knockout and it happens," Agent Zero wrote to him.
"Now go back to practice to get back on the field. It's no different from the first times you climbed the hardwood floor and played against me, against Alan Iverson, Stephen Marbury, Baron Davis or others. We easily defeated you, but that didn't stop you from going back to the hardwood and trying again. "Now you are allowed to watch a replay to see what you need to fix. You will learn from it and come back stronger."
Even one of the greatest boxers of all time, Floyd Mayweather, came out in Robinson's defense.
"Knight, I'm proud of you," Floyd wrote to him.
"I'll always stand behind you bro, I'll never kick a brother when he's on the floor. It's okay for people to express their opinions, but it does not make sense for black athletes, probably black NBA players, to laugh at you. We're supposed to stand side by side for better or worse. I'm here to pick you up, We all love you Knight and congratulations on the effort you put in. "

MMA fighter Colby Covington, apparently got an appetite after seeing Knight's loss, and after previously inviting LeBron James to battle, tonight he did it again.
"I heard they were finally able to move Robinson off the mat after the knockout he got," Covington tweeted.
"If I enter the arena with LeBron, I'll make him taste the canvas half the time. Everyone knows that today's NBA players are especially soft and weak."
