Finnish Sports Watch Company - Suunto Announced Model 7. This is its first smart sports watch, powered by the Wear OS. Sunto offering watches to fitness enthusiasts has so far lagged in its smart capabilities in terms of interface and apps. Her connection with Google came to help her close the gap with competitors.
The Sonatu 7 includes an internal GPS device, a barometer and a sensor for measuring the wrist pulse. The watch offers monitoring of 70 types of sports activities, downloading direct-to-watch maps and using maps that show popular running routes. The 7 is resistant to rain, snow and mud and it is important to note that it uses the Sunto sports app and does not require the use of Google. The watch also includes a WiFi device and automatic version updates. In previous Sunto watches, the watch had to be connected to the computer for updates.
As it is a Wear OS, Sunto 7 has access to many applications from the Google Store for smartwatches and the possibility to pay for Google Fay (capability expected to arrive in Israel in the future, with the introduction of EMV-supported terminals). In terms of battery, in Sunto it is said to provide a full working day, including sports activity or 48 hours in smart watch mode or 12 hours in GPS mode. The US price is $ 479 when it arrives in stores on January 31. The 7 will also arrive in Israel at a cost of NIS 2,000.
