"Out of a willingness to contribute to the people of Israel": A young Israeli has developed an application that will help people with disabilities receive a voice alert in the event of an alarm • And yet, he still does not make money from it - but loses
What did your kids do for a while in Corona? Meet Itai Goli, a 15-year-old app programmer from Ness Ziona who developed "Tzofar - Red Color" - an app that alerts you with an audible alert whenever an alarm is sounded. .
He said he always thought about how he could use his skills and help others. "I tried to find ways to help the citizens but I had no knowledge," Goli says in a conversation with Israel Today. "Then I thought of an app that would alert citizens to the color red, and I built one for both TV and cell phones. An office person who saw it linked me to the Home Front Command and that's how we made a connection."
"The connection with them was formed because they asked me to help them transmit alerts to smart TVs without the delay of the streaming," Gooly adds. "We worked on it and also made the TVs accessible to the visually impaired so that they would also announce the settlement at risk." Next, the industry head asked to embed the system in his app, and they allowed him to connect to their voice names database.
And what about money? It can be said that he does not see any out-of-pocket expenses for the time being either. "I do not gain but even lose from this app, it has one advertisement that brings in a bit, but I pay hundreds of shekels for the servers and I do it voluntarily to contribute to the people of Israel," he says. "It's funny, because I don't even live in the south but in Ness Ziona, but it's burning in my bones to donate. So when I saw that the Home Front Command was working on accessibility, I turned it into a cellphone with their approval and blessing."
