Lot: the author of an ultraviolent robbery in an octogenarian arrested

It is an attack of incredible violence suffered by an octogenarian from Figeac (Lot), a few days ago during the burglary of her house.

On September 17, around 5:30 am, the gendarmes were called to remove an accident vehicle in the city center of this town of 10,000 inhabitants.

Inside, they find two televisions and several valuables.

The license plate is on file: the vehicle belongs to an 83-year-old woman living within 300 meters of the scene of the accident.

Investigators go there and face a woman with a bloody face, as if devastated by the beatings.

She has not yet had time to call the gendarmerie, but the story she delivers is chilling.

Shortly after 2 a.m., she was in bed when she felt as if her ceiling was falling on her head.

In reality, it is blows that rain.

The old lady was severely beaten in the face with a cane by a man dressed in black with a masked face.

To investigators from the research section (SR) of Toulouse (Haute-Garonne), who take the lead in the investigation, she explains that the attacker was not content to hit her.

Twice she was raped by her assailant.

He then tied it with duct tape.

For nearly three hours, the burglar will then wander around the house in search of valuables that he loads in the car of the pensioner, parked in the garage of the pavilion.

Before leaving, he ends up extorting her credit card codes by threatening to kill her.

He then fled by car, which he abandoned a few minutes later after an accident.

The suspect, a 25-year-old homeless man

Important technical and scientific police work was carried out on the car by investigators from the Toulouse SR.

They also learn that the octogenarian card has just been used in an ATM in the town center of Figeac.

The thief has been careful to hide the camera, but a quick, stealthy image can make out his figure.

For the local gendarmes, there is no doubt: the man who has just withdrawn the money is a homeless man in his twenties who hangs out in the city center.

The man is placed under surveillance by the gendarmes while awaiting the return of DNA expertise.

On September 22, the technicians deliver their verdict and are categorical: the DNA found on the adhesive tape used to tie up the old lady belongs to the 25-year-old young man, already registered in the National DNA File after numerous burglaries.

On September 23, the suspect was arrested in a squat in Figeac where objects stolen from the octogenarian were discovered.

In police custody, he explains that he actually participated in the burglary, but that he was not responsible for the violence committed against the old lady.

According to him, it is an accomplice whose name he does not know who is responsible for the rapes.

Her DNA, however, is the only one to have been discovered in the old lady.

At the end of last week, he was indicted for rape of a vulnerable person as well as for aggravated violence.

He was remanded in custody.
