TWENTY cases of patients affected by the English variant of Covid-19 have been spotted on the national territory, Public Health France announced on January 7.
Since these 19 people announced, no overall figure has been published for France.
But the number of cases has surely increased.
A screening campaign was hastily mounted last Saturday by the Île-de-France regional health agency in Bagneux, after an educator, unrelated to Great Britain, tested positive for the English strain, named B 1.1.7 by scientists.
In addition, eight cases were identified in Marseille, in a home of 24 patients.
Two health professionals in the Lille region, in connection with Great Britain, were spotted last Sunday.
The case of a truck driver in Dunkirk is still being studied.
Fortunately, the fear of a “cluster” in Rennes was finally ruled out after a detailed analysis of the tests of people declared positive.
