Around noon, a tourist plane from the south of France missed its landing at the Courchevel altiport (Savoie), said the prefecture of the department.
A 63-year-old man has died.
The crash occurred during the landing phase shortly after 11:30 am.
The aircraft exited the runway and caught fire on impact with the ground.
A 31-year-old man, son of the deceased victim, and another 36-year-old man were able to be removed from the plane in time.
They were transported in shock to the Albertville hospital center.
According to the prefecture, the two men are "unharmed" thanks to a very important rescue system.
The prefect of Savoy sent his condolences to the family in a press release.
According to France 3 Auvergne - Rhône-Alpes, an investigation has been opened and the gendarmes fly over the area in search of elements which would make it possible to explain the causes of the accident.
The second crash in two days
This is the second fatal plane crash in the department in the space of two days.
Three people from Rezé, near Nantes, died on Thursday in the crash of another tourist plane which had taken off from Annecy in Haute-Savoie.
A fourth passenger was seriously injured.
The accident occurred in the afternoon in the town of Saint-Colomban-des-Villards, on the asphalt of the departmental road that leads to the Glandon pass. An investigation was entrusted to the Air Accident Investigation Bureau (BEA).
