Vaccines: Israel, shown as an example then caught up by the virus

However, the Hebrew state was one of the first countries to launch a large and effective vaccination campaign.


In mid-June, Israel lifted the obligation to wear a mask in closed public places.

This semblance of a return to life before was short-lived: ten days later, the government re-imposed the mask indoors after an increase in the number of coronavirus cases attributed to the Delta variant.

Today, the number of new daily cases is exploding (almost 9,000 on average).

The country even broke its record for daily contamination on Tuesday since the start of the pandemic, with nearly 11,000 cases recorded, just before the start of the school year.
